About Us
Who are we?
We are Lauren & Johnny and together we are Pren Decor.
I (Lauren) have always been a lover of DIY, being creative and crafty as well as loving reclaimed wood - back in 2020 during lock down I even redecorated/refurbed my bathroom using reclaimed wood and it was featured on Ideal Home website so the love of reclaimed wood and being creative definitely isn’t a new thing!
Back in August/September last year I thought to myself I would like to make some Christmas decorations myself using reclaimed wood for our home (much to Johnnys delight), then I thought maybe we could make some to sell although with my lack of self confidence I wasn’t sure they would be any good or that we would even sell any…oh but how wrong was I?! You absolutely LOVED our Christmas decorations which made us think we need to do this year round…and that was it, Pren Decor was born!
We took a bit of time deciding what our business name should be, I then had a thought that I’d like to incorporate a welsh word as Johnny is half Welsh. We spent time looking at various words - some we didn’t like, some I (Lauren) definitely wouldn’t be able to say and then I came across Pren which means wood. I mean in English ‘wood decor’ doesn’t sound a very exciting/appealing name but we loved the name Pren Decor - so that was it, our name was final!
We both have other work commitments - Johnny works very hard as a full time technical sales engineer and I also run another business making printed clothing and accessories which is Impress Rutland
During Christmas 2024 we then invested in a laser engraver which has opened up SO many new ideas, items and design ideas and the orders are flooding in which we are SO grateful for!
We have created some fabulous new products already this year which have been very popular and we will continue to do so.
What started as a few Christmas decorations has turned into so much more including photo boards, memory boards, display trays, kitchenware, coasters, keyrings and LOTS more to come!
